Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet has approved, at an initiative by the Health Ministry, the adjusting of the tariffs for medical services and the introduction of new tariffs covered by the health insurance policy, in order to enhance patients’ access to modern ways of diagnose and treatment, the government’s communication department reported.
The changes take place in the context that a good deal of the tariffs for medical services do not show the real expenses borne by the public providers of medical services and have not been revised ever since 2011.
The recalculation of the tariffs is needed for the implementation of the advanced ways of diagnose and treatment, through advanced medical equipment, which implies the use of costly consumables.
The new tariffs will not have impact on the insured people and regard especially the contractual relations of the National Health Insurances Company with the medical institutions. About 2.5 million citizens benefit from health insurance in Moldova in all.
