Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu and European Commission’s Director for Road Transport Kristian Schmidt today signed the prolongation of the Agreement on road transport of goods between Moldova and the European Union. This means that the carriers of goods from Moldova will move freely to the European Union, without authorizations, till December 2025 at the earliest.
„The advantages are obvious – without special authorizations in EU; increase in the export and import with EU; a safe and stable European commercial market for Moldova; Moldova as partner of Ukraine in the process of the country’s reconstruction; simpler and more efficient logistic chains,’’ the minister noted.
According to statistics data, starting from 2023, the services of goods transport from Moldova to EU and back increased by 15 per cent and the exports of goods to the EU member states grew from 530.8 million dollars in July-September 2022 up to 675.1 million dollars on the same period of the 2023 year.
