Parliament ratified agreement on Central European Exchange Program for University Studies

Chisinau, March 28. /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan students will have the opportunity to further benefit from scholarships in educational institutions abroad. A draft law on approving the Agreement on the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies (CEEPUS IV), signed in Warsaw in 2023, was voted in the first and second reading by parliament today.
The agreement is to be extended for seven years. Participation of students, researchers, teaching staff and administrative staff in academic mobility, research programs, practical internships or professional activities within the higher education institutions of the contracting states of the Agreement will be encouraged. It should be noted that the Republic of Moldova will also offer scholarships for foreign citizens.
Previously, in 2011-2023, 275 Moldovan citizens benefited from scholarships in the countries that signed the Agreement. At the same time, our country hosted 255 foreign scholars.
The signatory countries of the Agreement are Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
