61 companies awarded grants for energy efficiency and retrofit

Chisinau, March 30 /MOLDPRES/ - Managers of 61 companies have signed financing contracts with the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation (ODA) to receive grants from the Moldovan government and the European Union of up to 2 million lei (100 thousand euros) through the Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Program.

Economic agents will be able to use the money to optimise gas and electricity consumption by replacing obsolete equipment with modern ones or installing alternative energy sources.

According to ODA, the total value of the grants amounts to 47.3 million lei, while the total value of investments in the economy exceeds 117 million lei.

ODA Acting Director Gheorghe Iudin highlighted the latest government initiatives to support access to finance for businesses. In his speech, he urged entrepreneurs to explore other entrepreneurial support tools available to develop their businesses in a sustainable way.

The program was launched in the summer of 2022, and so far the ODA has awarded grants totalling 248.7 million lei to 303 companies.
