Chisinau, April 1 /MOLDPRES/- The submission of the mandate by MP Victoria Cazacu is required. Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement after the National Anti-Corruption Centre (CNA) today reported on searches at the airport in a corruption and bribery case allegedly targeting the daughter of a parliamentarian.
"Today the CNA informed about searches at the Airport in a corruption and bribery case targeting the daughter of a member of Parliament. Even if this person is presumed to be innocent until a court decision is handed down, such cases overshadow and undermine our fight against corruption. Victoria Cazacu's submission of her mandate is necessary in such circumstances. The PAS parliamentary faction will also take all measures to exclude the MP from parliamentary bodies and from the faction. Corruption is a serious threat to our country and we will not tolerate such cases," Grosu wrote.
This morning anti-corruption officers raided Chisinau International Airport in a corruption case. As a result, three customs inspectors were detained for 72 hours and four other customs inspectors are being investigated in custody.
