National Army to purchase new radar

Chisinau, April 5 /MOLDPRES/- Defence Ministry announced it has signed a contract for the purchase of a new radar that will improve monitoring Moldova's airspace. The purchase is made with the financial support of the European Union through the European Peace Facility programme.
The document was signed by director-general of the Estonian agency Magnus-Valdemar Saar and deputy chief of National Army General Staff Sergiu Cirimpei.
Minister of Defence Anatolie Nosatii expressed gratitude to the EU partners who contribute through constant assistance to the achievement of the national objectives of strengthening defence capabilities, noting that such projects will continue for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, a team of experts responsible for the procurement and implementation of the project was in the Republic of Moldova on 2-4 April. They had meetings with specialists of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff.
