Moldovan, Japanese officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, April 5 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi met with Japanese Ambassador to Moldova Yamada Yoishiro.
The two officials appreciated the development of Moldovan-Japanese bilateral relations. Popsoi noted that Japan is an important investor and trade partner, which supports democratic processes and the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
The discussion also focused on the security and economic situation in the region, caused by the war by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, as well as the challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova.
"I thanked Mr. Yoishiro Yamada for Japan's assistance for development and capacity building projects, especially in the areas of medicine, energy efficiency, agriculture, education. We agreed to continue cooperation between our countries," he said.
