Moldovan PM at Three Seas Initiative Summit

Chisinau, April 12 /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean attended the ninth edition of the Three Seas Initiative Summit, which is held annually to promote economic development, increase cohesion at European level and strengthen transatlantic ties, the government's communication department has reported.
The official stressed the need for cooperation at the regional level, including in the context of the turbulent period caused by the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine. According to the Prime Minister, the Republic of Moldova is affected both economically and in terms of security by the hybrid challenges that continue to affect our country.
"We are succeeding in maintaining peace and order throughout the country, and regional collaboration in promoting security makes us even more resilient. As an EU candidate country we share the same priorities as the member states of the Three Seas Initiative", he said.
According to the Prime Minister, the Republic of Moldova is taking decisive steps to accelerate the European path and transform the most important sectors. In particular, regional connections, interconnection of energy networks are being improved, gas transport capacity is being expanded and projects are being developed to ensure the country's energy independence.
The authorities also remain focused on developing a modern and interconnected infrastructure.
He also referred to Moldova's openness to contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine, stressing the importance of consolidating the efforts, resources and expertise of states to overcome the challenges in this regard: "By investing in collaboration and harnessing our common interests in infrastructure, energy and digitisation, we can build a developed and strong region where all nations will prosper".
