Chisinau, April 17 /MOLDPRES/ - Speaker Igor Grosu has met with members of the Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST).
The official said that Moldova has moved to a new stage in its relations with the European Union after the opening of negotiations and is doing its best to make progress on all negotiating chapters. Discussions with European officials focused on actions and progress made in the evaluation of judges and prosecutors to ensure a fair judicial system, as well as on measures to fight corruption and deoligarchisation.
Grosu noted that the European Union is more open than ever to help the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and our country must use this openness to build a truly European state.
"The EU accession process means first of all developing the country in all key areas. Step by step we are moving from the status of EU neighbour to future member of the great European family. I am glad that we have the appreciation and encouragement of the EU institutions", Grosu said.
