Moldovan government approved decision on employment of personal assistants

Chisinau, April 17 /MOLDPRES/ - The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection will hire more than 2,000 personal assistants who were dismissed by the Chisinau city hall.

For this purpose, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the creation of the Personal Assistance social service with high specialization within the Agency for Management of Highly Specialised Social Services (AGSSSÎ). The number of employees of the Agency has been increased from 10 at present to 2,202, of which 2,155 are personal assistants.

AGSSSÎ will provide the service if it is not provided by the local public administration authorities.

Since January until now, the Chisinau city hall has illegally dismissed or reduced the working hours of more than 1200 personal assistants, and the others risk being made unemployed in the coming period.

In March, all the personal assistants who suffered from the abusive actions of the Chisinau city hall received 5000 lei, and in April they will receive a further payment, depending on the extent to which their working hours have been reduced or their employment has been completely terminated.
