Moldovan, German officials address current issues

Chisinau, April 18 /MOLDPRES/- European integration agenda, current priorities and the authorities' determination to carry out the necessary reforms to bring the country closer to EU standards and ensure its European path were the topics discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov at a meeting with Chair of the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee Michael Roth.
The officials also discussed the security situation in the region. "Germany is a strong friend of the Republic of Moldova, which is why I wanted to thank the Berlin Chancellery for the support over the years. This is significant support, which contributes to strengthening key sectors - economic resilience and business development, anti-corruption and justice reform, infrastructure and energy security", stressed Gherasimov.
The official also appreciated Germany's commitment to further support the Republic of Moldova both politically, in its European path and to modernise and develop the country. "All this means concrete steps towards building a European Moldova", said Gherasimov.
