Moldovan speaker's message on State Flag Day

Chisinau, April 27 /MOLDPRES/ - Together with this flag we are building a strong, free and European Moldova. With this historic flag, we will move into the future, into the European Union. Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement on State Flag Day.

"For 34 years with pride and honour we have raised this flag. We gained independence, took our first steps on the international arena, won medals. We are building a strong, free and European Moldova. With this historic flag, we will go into the future, into the European Union. Honour the tricolour today and every day. Let us carry and fly our flag wherever we are, at home or abroad", said Grosu.

State Flag Day was established by the Parliament on 23 April 2010. The Tricolour was officially designated the state flag on 27 April 1990.

The State Flag is a major official symbol of the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
