Better conditions for patients of Institute of Emergency Medicine

Chisinau, May 3 /MOLDPRES/ - Speaker Igor Grosu attended the inauguration of the Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Unit and the Angiography department of the Institute of Emergency Medicine. They were renovated with the support of the World Bank, as well as thanks to state investment. Thus, patients will benefit from better treatment conditions and will have more chances to recover, because doctors will work with modern and high-performance equipment, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The anaesthesia and intensive care department's renovation cost 25 million lei. 16.5 million was allocated through the World Bank's COVID-19 Emergency Response Project, and the rest - from the sources of the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance House.
At the Institute of Emergency Medicine, the Angiography department has been endowed with state-of-the-art equipment for the diagnosis and surgical treatment of vascular diseases. The investments amount to 16.5 million lei and, thanks to them, the resolution of complicated cases of stroke and other cardiovascular pathologies will be faster and more efficient.
In the last two years, about 200 million lei have been invested in modernizing and equipping the Institute of Emergency Medicine with medical devices. The money was allocated both from the state budget and thanks to the financial support of external partners.
The World Bank Project allocated a total of 187.2 million euros and the money was used to renovate 11 ATI departments across the country.
