Moldovan, Hungarian officials approach country's European agenda

Chisinau, May 6 /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov had a productive discussion with Janos Boka, Minister for EU Affairs of Hungary, in Budapest today. The meeting was held as part of a working visit by the Chisinau official to the Hungarian capital on Hungary's holding the rotating presidency of the European Union on 1 July - 31 December 2024, the government's communication department has reported.
"I discussed with my counterpart our European agenda and thanked the Hungarian authorities for the constant support of Moldova's European aspirations. We count on the same openness and support in the future," Cristina Gherasimov said after the meeting.
The discussion also focused on the country's European path and the actions taken by the Chisinau government to be as well prepared as possible for the bilateral screening stage and start the accession negotiations. Gherasimov stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation with Hungary and other EU member countries for successful European integration.
