Deputy Prime Minister discussed Hungary's priorities for upcoming EU Presidency in Budapest

Budapest, May 7 /MOLDPRES/ - On a working visit to Budapest, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov discussed Moldova's European aspirations with several high-ranking Hungarian officials. On Monday, she met Istvan Jakab, Deputy Speaker, Zsolt Semjén, Deputy Prime Minister and Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
Discussions focused on Hungary's priorities for the upcoming EU Presidency, which it will hold in the second half of this year, as well as on the actions planned by the Chisinau government during this period to advance the European agenda. Cristina Gherasimov also expressed gratitude for Hungary's support in our European path.
"I mentioned the important role of the Strategic Partnership between our countries in strengthening political dialogue and economic relations. We are open to developing it and making it stronger. We would also like to build on the experience of Hungary's accession as one of the ten countries that became members of the European Union 20 years ago", the official said.
