Moldovan, Norwegian officials approach cooperation, current situation

Chisinau, May 7 /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova's head of diplomacy Mihai Popsoi has met with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Norway Espen Barth Eide.

The officials approached bilateral cooperation, Norway's assistance to Moldova's development, progress of reforms implemented by our country, as well as the regional situation.

They also addressed the opening of a diplomatic office in Chisinau. The Norwegian official said that the establishment of the office in the near future represents support for the Republic of Moldova and the European path.

"I thanked the foreign minister for the fact that Norway is with the Republic of Moldova on the European Union path.

On 6-7 May, I was in Oslo, together with President Maia Sandu, on a state visit to the Kingdom of Norway. This is the first time that a President of the Republic of Moldova has paid a state visit to Norway. This first visit is a great opportunity to bring cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Norway to a new level," said Popsoi.
