Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/- The Chisinau International Airport will be included in the list of assets which can no longer be privatized. An MP of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Radu Marian, has registered an amendment to this effect.

The initiative’s author noted that ‘’the amendment will guarantee that the Airport remains in the state’s property and will correct an injustice committed during the previous governances.’’

„Also, the amendment will allow the Public Property Agency (APP) to re-launch the tender on the renting of rooms at the Airport and to apply more advantageous conditions for attracting as many as possible serious companies. For instance, to extend also the term of hiring out rooms from 3 to 5 years. To do this, the law is needed to be amended in parliament, and namely to include the Airport in the list of state’s assets not liable to privatization,’’ the lawmaker said.

Radu Marian also said that ‘’the Shor crime ring still controls some commercial areas at the Airport and must be driven away from there.’’ ‘’We will create conditions for this to occur as soon as possible,’’ Marian noted.

In early May, APP informed that the tender for the renting of rooms at the Chisinau International Airport would be re-launched with the adjusting of the conditions for participation, in order to attract as many as possible renowned companies. At the same time, the institution specified that it would come up with proposals of adjusting the law, in order to include the state enterprise, Chisinau international Airport, in the list of goods not liable to privatization.
