Deputy Prime Minister : Moldova has most IT employees per capita in Europe

Chisinau, May 18 /MOLDPRES/ - The Republic of Moldova has the highest number of IT employees per capita in Europe, after Estonia. In 2023, the IT sector accounted for 4.5% of the total number of employed people, or 26,327 specialists, who directly contributed to a 6.7% share of the gross domestic product. The figures were presented by Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitisation.
Our country has surpassed giants such as Poland, Ukraine and Romania, according to a study published by Emerging Europe, said Dumitru Alaiba.
The Moldova Digital Summit will be held in Moldova on 6-7 June to discuss trends in the development of the sector.
