Moldovan PM leads national delegation to 8th meeting of Moldova-European Union Association Council

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean on 21-21 May pays a working visit to Brussels, where he will lead the national delegation to the eighth meeting of the Moldova-European Union Association Council, the government’s communication department has reported.
The visit’s agenda includes meetings with European Council President Charles Michel, European Commission Vice President, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi and European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni. The officials will discuss the evolution of the relations between Moldova and the European Union, through the light of implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), as well as the march of preparations for the opening of the negotiations on accession.
Also, in Brussels, the sides will sign the Partnership for Security and Defence between Moldova and the European Union, as well as the Agreement on Moldova’s participation in the component of employment and social innovation of the European Social Fund, which will facilitate the accessing by Moldova of funds for the implementation of social policies.
The Moldovan delegation also includes Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy PM, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, Deputy PM, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu, Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, Labour and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu.
