Irish Speaker to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/- Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Irish Parliament Seán Ó Fearghaíl will visit Moldova on 31 May - 2 June 2024. This is the first visit to our country by an Irish speaker in the 25 years since the establishment of Moldovan-Irish diplomatic relations.
The Irish official will have a meeting with Speaker Igor Grosu. Afterwards, they will hold a press briefing.
The agenda also includes meetings with the head of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration, Ina Coșeru, members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Ireland in the Moldovan Parliament and Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Discussions will focus on our country's European agenda and Ireland's support for EU accession efforts, the intensification of parliamentary dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and Ireland, and boosting trade and economic cooperation.
The Irish Speaker will be accompanied on his visit to Moldova by a delegation of senators.
