Moldovan Superior Council of Prosecutors to put forward to head of state candidacy of Ion Munteanu for prosecutor general office

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) today informed that it would put forward to Moldova’s President Maia Sandu the candidate of Ion Munteanu for the office of prosecutor general.
According to the CSP’s decision, Ion Munteanu got the largest number of points at the exam of interview of the contest and has already passed the external evaluation.
The head of state has at her disposal 15 days to issue or not a decree on the appointment of the candidate put forward by CSP.
In late last February, CSP cancelled the contest for the position of prosecutor general, after one member of the Council had downgraded a candidate.
Following a decree signed by Moldova’s President on 26 September 2023, the office of Prosecutor General became vacant.
