Parliament speaker says traditions part of Moldovans' DNA

Chisinau, 9 June /MOLDPRES/ - The folk bands from all over Moldova have assembled at the national folk festival and contest titled, La Nistru, la mărgioară (At Bank of Dniester), the 2024 edition, held in the Telita village, central Anenii Noi district. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, along with a group of MPs were with the participants in the people’s event for promotion of the folklore and national costume.
The parliament speaker welcomed the nice people, preservers of people’s traditions, who assembled at Dniester’s meadow. ‘’Our nation will continue to exist as long as we will have popular customs and traditions, as they are part of our DNA. In each family, just as in each settlement, there is time for work and time for holiday. Our nation knows how to work and hot to enjoy themselves,’’ Igor Grosu said.
The mayor of the Telita village, Rodica Rusu, expressed gratitude, on behalf of the residents, for the happiness to host an event which promotes the national costume and the traditions of the nation.
The national folk festival „La Nistru, la mărgioară”, edition 2024, was hosted, for the first time ever, by the Telita village of the Anenii Noi district, which put on holiday clothes on this occasion. Annually, the festival brings together all folk bands from the district, as well as numerous guests from all over the country at an event on the promotion of the traditions and the national costume, of turning to good account of the folklore and of encouraging talents.
The festival started with a parade of national costume, held along the Telita village, up to the bank of Dniester, in accords of brass band music, as well as with a big round dance, in which all participants in the event took part. The schedule of the festival also included a fair with native products, special areas arranged for children, a fair of popular craftsmen specialized in pottery, artistic processing of wood, knitted work made of rods, embroidery and crocheting, manufacturing of folk instruments.
