Movement of high tonnage transport means to be restricted in Moldova on dog days

Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ - The transport means with a weight of more than 20 tons are banned from moving on certain segments of national roads marked with the concerned road signs on days with air temperatures higher than +30 Celsius degrees.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the movement restrictions do not regard the passenger transport, the vehicles which carry food products, materials for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations.

The goal of the ban s to prevent the deterioration of the roadway with cloth made of asphalt concrete. In the context, IGP urges drivers to move during the hours when the air temperature does not exceed +30 Celsius degrees.

Private people who will infringe the norms run the risk getting fines worth from 3,000 to 4,000 lei and the legal entities – from 12,000 to 15,000 lei.
