Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ - Another two persons have been detained in the file on the scheme on manipulation of INTERPOL data. The detentions took place following the carrying out of new searches by anticorruption prosecutors.
According to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, on 9 June this year, a person was detained at the Chisinau International Airport at the exit from the country, following the carrying out of a bodily search and the raising of digital devices and other objects. Subsequently, prosecutors demanded the enforcement of the preventive arrest against the concerned person. Thus, magistrates of the Chisinau Court, Ciocana headquarters, admitted the approach and preventive arrest was enforced for 30 days.
At the same time, on 10 June, another person was detained, with searches made at more addresses. Following an assessment of the implied risks, prosecutors today ruled to release the person, who is to be prosecuted at large.
On 4 June, four people were detained following more searches carried out within a joint inquiry between Moldova and France, which investigates a presumed scheme of corruption, through which public people from Moldova and other countries would have received bribes for interference with the publication by the INTERPOL of the Red Notices for offenders from different countries, who were put in international wanted list. On 6 June, another person was detained in this case.
