Moldovan president participates in ceremony on taking oath of physician and pharmacist by graduates of Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University

Chisinau, 12 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has thanked those 1,025 graduates of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF), during the ceremony of Taking the Oath, for having chosen the responsible career and congratulated them for perseverance and discipline of learning.
„Dear future physicians, you have taken the oath of physician and pharmacist – a sacred and honest commitment to save lives and help people to be healthy. You will have challenges; you will have sleepless nights, but you will have the highest satisfaction – a life in the service of other lives. I express gratitude for the professionalism and self-denial of all physicians from Moldova and I rely on the involvement and energy of young specialists, whom I urge to work for the benefit of the people at home, in Moldova,’’ President Maia Sandu said in her congratulatory message.
The head of state noted that, in 2023 alone, the salaries of all physicians, medical assistants and nurses had grown by an average of 15 per cent. In the last three years, the government has invested 2.4 billion lei in the renovation of the hospitals from Moldova and the young physicians who work in the rural regions receive, at the employment, an allowance of 120,000 lei in a single installment.
„We know that there are still more things to be done in the health system; yet, step by step, we will manage to cover the ambitious road on which we embarked together,’’ the Moldovan president stressed.
