Chisinau, 17 June. /MOLDPRES/ - Stefan cel Mare cel Mare e Sfânt Public Garden hosted the most eco-friendly festival in Moldova - Sun Dă-i Fest 2024 - which has reached its eighth edition. The event was dedicated to promoting energy efficiency, environmental awareness and sustainable development. It brought together more than 70 environmental organisations and companies to share their technological innovations and sell handicraft products.
The festival was attended by communities promoting renewable energy and green technologies: from photovoltaic panels and heat pumps to models of houses designed with minimal energy loss. Visitors were treated to a diverse programme, including entertainment for youngsters, teenagers and adults, presentations of the latest renewable energy technologies and machines. One of the highlights of the event was the electricity-generating bicycle used to illuminate a model of the map of Moldova.
UNDP Resident Representative to the Republic of Moldova Daniela Gasparikova said that it is an annual event organised to raise awareness of environmental issues and inspire active participation. "Each of us plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint. By adopting green practices in our daily lives, we can contribute to a brighter future," said the official.
The event was organised by UNDP Moldova, financially supported by the European Union, Denmark and Japan, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Environment.
