Decision-makers from eight Moldovan high schools where leaks of examination tests were allowed run risk of being sanctioned

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/ - The people involved in the carrying out of the school-leaving examinations in eight high schools from Moldova ‘’committed serious infringements in the process of organization and carrying out of exams’’ and run the risk of being punished. This ascertaining belongs to the National Commission of Examinations (CNE). The Commission’s decision comes after photos with tests from exams for finishing high schools from the 2024 session and their settlement were published in the online environment. The pictures appeared in real time, concomitantly with the holding of the examination, which runs counter the legislation.      

Thus, the Commission found out ‘’the serious infringement committed by the people involved in the carrying out of the school-leaving examinations at the Gymnasium from Cirnatenii Noi, Causeni district; Gymnasium Mihai Eminescu from Jevreni, Criuleni district; Gymnasium Mihail Sadoveanu from Cupcini, Edinet district; Gymnasium Hijdieni from Hijdieni, Glodeni district; Gymnasium Mircea Snegur from Trifanesti, Floresti district; Gymnasium Prajila from Prajila, Floresti district; Gymnasium Stefanesti from Stefanesti, Floresti district, Gymnasium Putinesti from Putinesti, Floresti district.     

All materials accumulated in this case were submitted to the General Police Inspectorate for examination and investigation of cases of derogation from the rigours of carrying out examinations, the Education and Research Ministry (MEC) said. 

At the same time, CNE asked the local specialty bodies in the education sector from Causeni, Criuleni, Edinet, Glodeni and Floresti to carry out, as priority, a workplace investigation, within which all circumstances of the infringements found out should be considered.

According to the Regulation on the national examination for finishing the gymnasium, the people involved in the organization and carrying out of the national examinations for finishing the gymnasium, who do not observe the provisions of the Regulation, through such actions as: providing solutions to subjects, replacements or forgeries of tests, changes of marks, allowing the copying or other ways of rigging national exams of finishing the gymnasium or display negligence in exercising their duties through tolerating actions or intentions of infringing the regulation, are sanctioned, under the Labour Code.      

At the same time, in line with the provisions of the Contravention Code, the publication of subjects for the examinations for finishing the gymnasium and the school-leaving examination and/or the solutions to them till the starting of the concerned exam or during its holding is sanctioned with fine worth up to 4,500 lei, in case of private people and up to 12,000 lei in the case of legal entities. The decision-makers run the risk a similar fine, with the deprivation of the right to carry out certain activities for a term from three months to one year.  

The National Commission of Examinations was summoned, after photos with tests of examination in mathematics and Romanian language (ninth form) and their settlement had been published on a telegram channel during the holding of the examination, which runs counter the legislation. The Education and Research Ministry noted that the mechanisms of securing the examination tests had allowed identifying the education institutions where the leaks of information took place.     

The national examinations of finishing the gymnasiums were held on 3-13 June.
