Moldovan, Ukrainian officials analyze process of cooperation of Moldova, Ukraine for Intergovernmental Conference due on 25 June

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/ - The process of preparation of the Moldovan and Ukrainian governments for the Intergovernmental Conference due on 25 June, which will officially launch the negotiations on accession of the two countries to the European Union, has been analyzed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna.    

According to the government’s communication department, the officials discussed by phone before the first Intergovernmental Conference, scheduled to be held in Luxembourg on 25 June.    

Cristina Gherasimov and Olha Stefanishyna „pointed out the achievements recorded by both countries on the European integration path, which stayed at the basis of the positive evaluation of the European Commission, as well as of the decision of the EU member states to approve the frameworks of negotiation for Moldova and Ukraine,’’ the quoted source said.   

In the end of the last week, Deputy PM Cristina Gherasimov informed that the European Union officially opened the negotiations on accession of Moldova and Ukraine, with the first Intergovernmental Conference due to take place on 25 June.
