Sheep and goat farmers can access grants of up to 1 million dollars

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/- Sheep and goat farmers can access grants of up to 1 million dollars under the Agriculture Governance, Growth and Resilience Investment Project (AGGRI), which is meant to support investments in the development of production and processing infrastructure in the livestock sector.
The money can be used for the construction and modernization of livestock farms, equipping them with state-of-the-art technologies, as well as the purchase of breeding animals. Funds are also available for energy efficiency on farms, including the implementation of renewable energy technologies (biogas stations and photovoltaic panels).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has announced that in order to benefit from the grants, producers must meet several conditions, including being registered and operating in the territory controlled by the Moldovan authorities, except for the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti; being legal owners of the assets that are the subject of the grant incentive, with a minimum lease or commodate term of five years; having a viable long-term business plan; contributing at least 50% of the value of the investment sub-project.
Applications can be submitted to the territorial offices of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture.
