Moldovan president meets delegations of Weimar Triangle countries

Chisinau, June 21 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met today with representatives of Weimar Triangle alliance, namely German Minister of State for Europe and Climate Anna Lührmann, Minister for European Affairs of Poland Adam Szłapka and French Ambassador to Moldova Paul Graham. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss Moldova's efforts and accession to the European Union, as well as regional security, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state welcomed the constant support of Germany, Poland and France and thanked them for backing the official launch of accession negotiations. The European path for Moldova means the road to peace and well-being for all our citizens, the president said.
Weimar Triangle is a trilateral cooperation format including France, Germany and Poland. Among the topics it is currently promoting are support for Ukraine and EU enlargement.
