Moldovan PM meets EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s European integration will contribute to the creation of a safer and more prosperous European community. Prime Minister Dorin Recean and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi have discussed the benefits of the European Union’s enlargement and the steps Moldova was to take in this process.
The discussions were focused on aspects of regional security and consolidation of the cooperation in this sector, combating the misinformation and hybrid threats and the stages Moldova follows in the process of accession to the European Union.
PM Dorin Recean reconfirmed the authorities’ commitment in the implementation of the structural reforms and the aligning with the European standards in the key sectors, such as the justice, human rights, economy. At the same time, the Moldovan prime minister asked for the further support for the implementation of the EU acquis, development of the infrastructure and of the process of Ukraine’s recovery.
„With the political, technical and financial support of the European partners, we have managed to overcome the shock on the Moldovan economy, triggered by the war from the neighbour country. Now, we are resolute to create conditions for a sustainable economic growth, for the prosperity of all our citizens,’’ the prime minister added.
