Moldova, Romania to support each other in international peacekeeping missions and operations

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/- Romania will support Moldova's participation in peacekeeping operations and missions. Parliament ratified an amendment to the agreement between the Moldovan and Romanian governments on military cooperation.
The assistance includes logistical, transportation, telephone and internet, financial, medical and emergency evacuation support.
"The Republic of Moldova participates and intends to continue to participate with military personnel or contingents in international missions and operations under the aegis of the UN, EU, NATO (under UN mandate) and OSCE, which is an important aspect in the development of bilateral political relations and a factor indirectly contributing to the increase of our state's security on the European continent," the Defense Ministry's explanatory note said.
The Second Protocol amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania on cooperation in the military field aims to facilitate the mutual provision of logistical assistance and services related to joint participation in operations and peacekeeping missions.
The document was signed in Bucharest on May 24, 2024 and was concluded following consultations between the parties.
