Moldovan president, PM convey congratulatory messages to three EU leaders

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean have conveyed congratulatory messages to the European leaders, Ursula von der Leyen, Antonio Costa and Kaja Kallas, nominated to leadership offices at European institutions.
„Sincere congratulations to Ursula von der Leyen, Antonio Costa and Kaja Kallas. I look forward to working together for a stronger, safer and more united Europe. I am confident that together we will be able to bring Moldova where its place is – in the EU family,’’ President Maia Sandu wrote.
„Through joint work, we can bring Moldova to its de jure place in the great family of the European Union member countries. I look forward to working together, in order to edify a more robust, safer and more united Europe,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed.
At a meeting of the European Council on 27 June, the EU leaders ruled to appoint the former Portuguese prime minister, António Costa, to the office of President of the European Council. At the same time, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was nominated for a new mandate in this position and PM of Estonia Kaja Kallas was nominated as High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
