Chisinau, July 3 /MOLDPRES/- Kindergartens in the country will be able to provide food for children through the catering system. The government today approved amendments to the sanitary regulation for early education institutions.
The project, carried out at the initiative of the Health Ministry, aims to establish modern sanitary standards for all early education institutions, so that every child benefits from the highest level of care. These standards are essential for the protection and strengthening of children's state of health, physical and neuro-psychic development, as well as the prevention of illness.
The document also lays down regulations for the infrastructure of early education institutions by adapting them to the needs of children with disabilities, thus ensuring inclusion and equal opportunities for all children.
It also provides for early education institutions to be equipped with mechanical ventilation systems, which are important for maintaining a healthy microclimate inside the buildings.
In 2023, 1,479 early childhood education institutions were operating in the Republic of Moldova, of which 76.3% in rural areas and 23.7% in urban areas.
