Moldova to invest €98 million to rehabilitate regional roads

Chisinau, July 8 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will receive a 98 million euro loan for the rehabilitation of regional roads. The money will be granted by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association for carrying out the Moldova Rural Connectivity project. The government today approved the ratification of loan agreements in this regard.
The agreements are a continuation of the support provided by the World Bank through the financial organizations for the modernization of road and customs infrastructure.
The selected regional roads are Corridor 5, R13 - Ivanovca-Izvoare-Varnița-Ocolina-M2 with a length of 35 km; Corridor 8.1 and Corridor 8.2 - Cornești-Boghenii Noi - Napadeni-M5(G88) with a length of 33 km; Corridor 24 - R34-Ciobălaccia-Tărtaul-R56-Baimaclia-Enichioi-R37 with a length of 43 km.
The money will also be used for the modernization and construction of the Giurgiulesti, Leuseni and Ungheni border crossings and access roads.
