Moldovan president meets European official

Chisinau, July 10 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met today with Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, who is on a working visit to Chisinau to start the bilateral screening process, the presidential press service has reported.
The agenda of the talks included topics on Moldova's progress in the accession to the European Union, regional security and EU support for the country's modernization efforts.
The head of state expressed gratitude for the significant financial assistance provided by the European Union. Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine, including for ensuring security in the Republic of Moldova and the region.
Maia Sandu also reaffirmed our country's commitment to advance on the European path, emphasizing that the authorities will complete the initiated reforms, including in justice.
