Moldovan PM meets IMF official

Chisinau, July 10 /MOLDPRES/- Solid partnership between Moldova and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was discussed today by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and IMF Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura, who is on a working visit to Chisinau, the government's communication department has reported.
"The successful partnership with the IMF is an indicator for developing relations with other partners. We are firm in our European path, in carrying out our goal of growing the economy, increasing the life quality and creating as many opportunities as possible in our country," Recean said.
Kenji Okamura congratulated the Republic of Moldova on the opening of EU accession negotiations, noting that a complex process lies ahead and our country must be consistent in achieving the goal. "We are open to offer you more support in the modernization of the country", Okamura said.
Recean noted that at the current stage, the authorities have a lot of work to do not only in adjusting the legislative framework, but also in ensuring its implementation. The sides also talked about the importance of the rule of law and ways to increase the confidence of foreign investors in the Moldovan economy in the uncertain regional context.
Okamura is in Moldova to attend the meeting of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Constituency, hosted by the Republic of Moldova on July 10-12.
