20 technical units from USA to reach Moldova this week

Chisinau, July 15 /MOLDPRES/- National Army is to receive this week a batch of military equipment from the United States of America comprising 20 HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle).

According to the Defense Ministry, the vehicles will be used by the National Army servicemen in national and international training and exercises.

The donation will be offered in the context of the achievement of the objective of modernization of the National Army's capabilities and on the basis of the Memorandum On military cooperation between the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Moldova and the Department of Defense of the United States of America, signed on December 4, 1995.

The Ministry notes that due to the hot weather, transportation of the units will take place at night, when air temperatures are lower and traffic is lighter.
