Moldova's commission for evaluation of judges has new member

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - Willem Brouwer today was nominated to the office of member of the commission for external evaluation of the ethic and financial integrity of the judges and candidates for the position of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ).   

The candidacy of Willem Brouwer was put forward by development partners, after Maria Giuliana Civinini had submitted the application on resignation from this office.

According to the CV, Willem Brouwer participated in the external evaluation of the judges and prosecutors in Albania; he was deputy president of the Eulex Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo and judge at the Supreme Court from Pristina, Kosovo.   

The commission for external evaluation of the ethic and financial integrity of the judges and candidates for the position of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice is made up of six members. Three of them are put forward by the parliamentary factions and three – by development partners. The members of the commission are appointed by the parliament, with the votes of three fifths of the number of MPs elected.
