Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - Over 80 per cent of the exports and 53 per cent of the imports of the economic agents from the Transnistrian region regarded the European Union.
According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, an increase in the import-export transactions with EU member states was recorded on this period.
„The suspension of the work of all crossing points on the central (Transnistrian) segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border in the wake of the war in Ukraine prompted the change of the logistic chains and a significant reorientation of the commercial activity from the region to the markets of the European Union. This led to the strengthening of the domestic trade relations with the right bank of Dniester, consolidating the economic and logistic connection between the two banks,’’ the Bureau said.
Thus, the export of economic agents from the Transnistrian region to EU countries stood at 80 per cent – a new record figure since the signing of the Association Agreement with Moldova. In 2023, this figure was of over 70 per cent.
Also, on this period, decision-makers find out maintenance of the import commercial relations with EU, which reach the level of 53 per cent.
The main destinations from EU chosen by economic agents from the Transnistrian region stay Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, Slovakia, France, Latvia, Austria etc.
