Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - The personal assistants from the Chisinau municipality, whose working schedule was shortened and whose labour relations were ceased, under a decision by the Chisinau city hall, will be re-employed with full-time or by plurality of offices, up to a full-time schedule. A draft to this end was approved by the government today.
The decision was taken, in order to back the people with severe disabilities and give equal access to social services. The latter will be able to be provided by the Agency for the Management of Social Services of High Specialization, where 1,215 personal assistance have been employed so far, of whom 166 in July.
„Through the regulations which we propose, we will be able to employ also those personal assistants, especially the ones who take care of children with severe disabilities, whose the remuneration was cut by the city hall. We will be able to employ them by plurality of offices and to make sure that they have at least one full salary, in order to provide, in continuation, this support and care, which is essential,’’ Labour and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu said at the cabinet meeting.
During more months, the personal assistants, who were dismissed under decision by the Chisinau city hall or whose labour time was cut, received financial support on behalf of the Labour and Social Protection Ministry. The measure was enforced till the normative regulation of the possibility to employ them at the Agency for the Management of Social Services of High Specialization.
In the beginning of this year, more personal assistants from Chisinau were dismissed, which triggered their discontent. The local authorities reasoned the decision by the lack of financial means.
