European Moldova inscription added to electronic signature

Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - The inscription, European Moldova, has been added to the citizens’ electronic signature at the section, Location. The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, said the action was part of the campaign, Europe for You.

„Let us be sincere; nobody in this country, not even the ministers who commented this subject on electoral purpose, can deny that Moldova is on the European continent and is a European country. This is such an obvious fact, that it should be controversial in the 2024 year. Through the European Moldova inscription on the electronic signature, we do nothing but emphasize this thing clearly and simply. So that there are no doubts, I repeat: Moldova is European geographically and culturally,’’ Daniel Voda said.     

At the same time, the spokesman for the government provided more details about the government’s campaign, Europe for You. Daniel Voda informed that this was a an information campaign underway and had been announced by the cabinet on 8 July, based on a plan of communication and a calendar of activities. Through this initiative, the citizens are informed till 18 August about the benefits and opportunities provided by Moldova’s rapprochement with the European Union.  

„We have more products which are communicated to the public. They include informative newspapers, billboards, posters for district centres and retail partners who participate in the campaign, flyers for the public transport, stickers, video and audio clips, as well as the development of the webpage www.moldovaeuropeana.md and our communication on social networks, which we regularly carry out,’’ Daniel Voda noted.       

At the same time, within the same campaign, an information button was introduced on 48 official pages of public institutions, the role of which is to provide citizens with correct and verified information about the benefits and opportunities provided by the European Union.   

„I noticed that some actors regard the new information buttons as a kind of ‘’blesses water’’ for their own lies and misinformation campaigns. I have a quite simple recommendation here: please, not be afraid of correct information, of verified information and the goal of which is to protect the citizens from falsehoods. I remind that it is at the discretion of each visitor, including these politicians or other visitors of the official webpages, to access this button. Just as the state is in charge of transparently informing the citizens about the actions which we carry out,’’ Daniel Voda said.     

„We reaffirm our commitment to transparently and correctly inform the citizens about the benefits of the rapprochement with the European Union, inviting all of you to access the new information button. And I thank also some politicians for the promotion of these informing elements of the cabinet,’’ the spokesman for the government said.  

The Europe for You campaign will be held till 18 August.
