Moldovan foreign affairs ministry warns about statements falsely assigned to minister Mihai Popsoi

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) warns about a statement distributed in the Russian online environment, which is falsely assigned to Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi. According to MAE, ‘’the falsely assigning of inexistent statements is part of a premeditated misinformation campaign which targets Moldova, in order to create division or convey erroneous messages to public.’’
MAE noted that ‘’the statement falsely assigned promoted concocted deeds and speaks about inexistent subjects in the bilateral dialogue and relations between Moldova and Ukraine.’’
„This statement has never been launched by Mihai Popsoi. When Minister Mihai Popsoi makes a public statement, it is spread each time transparently on the MAE’s and the minister’s communication platforms.
The falsely assigning of inexistent statements is part of a premeditated misinformation campaign which targets Moldova, in order to create division or convey erroneous messages to the public,’’ MAE informed.
The authorities urge the citizens to verify the erroneous information from the primary source and report it to the social networks on which it is distributed. At the same time, the citizens should not hesitate to inform the acquaintances and relatives about this information.
