Moldovan PM, representatives of business environment discuss on Economic Council's platform

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has chaired a plenary meeting of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister of Moldova. Attending the event were also Deputy PM, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba and Deputy PM, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea. The prime minister and representatives of the business environment discussed the present economic situation, the challenges faced by the entrepreneurs and pointed out solutions to them, the government’s communication department reported.
PM Dorin Recean said that the government’s goal stayed the ensuring of the economic growth, enhancing the productivity and competitiveness. ‘’We must make a greater effort of encouraging investments and de-bureaucratizing the processes in continuation. The de-bureaucratization and the digitalization can bring a growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2.5 per cent,’’ the prime minister said.
At the same time, the PM stressed that, despite the current regional context, the rapprochement with the European Union provided an optimistic vision for the business and implied the access to additional financing. In the context, Dorin Recean said that the government would be attentive that the entrepreneurs have the time and resources needed to adjust themselves and make the transition to a new economic environment. In this respect, the public communication was also improved, through which the changes taking place are explained.
The prime minister referred to the importance of the IT sector, which registers a continuous positive evolution. Presently, Moldova has the biggest share of employees in this field among the European countries.
The dialogue with the business environment also regarded specific subjects for different segments. The participants in the meeting discussed the conditions of work in the Free Economic Zones, IT parks, access to financing, provision with employees, ways of enhancing the access to water and irrigation, etc.
The Economic Council has the task to facilitate the dialogue between the representatives of the business environment, community of donors and political opinion makers, in order to develop a transparent business environment and friendly for investments. In 2024, the Economic Council under the Prime Minister of Moldova turned ten years of work.
