Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Agriculture and Food industry Ministry (MAIA) encourages the exporters of grapes and fruits of Moldova to access the support provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for the promotion of products on international markets. The period of submitting files is till 5 September 2024.
The Association of Table Grapes Exporters of Moldova (APESM), with the support of the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity in Moldova Project, informed about a programme on support for the promotion of grapes and other fruits on international markets. The programme helps exporters organize promotions in shops and other sales points on international markets.
„The exporters of table grapes and other fruits from Moldova can benefit from the covering of the expenses up to 50 per cent of the total cost of the promotion activities, up to 5,000 euros per one company, plus the consultative assistance. The period of submitting the file is 24 July - 5 September 2024,’’ USAID said.
The assessment of the quality of fruits before export is a requirement for the producers and exporters. For the process to be as easier as possible, the Moldova Fruct Association, with the support of the USAID‘s Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity in Moldova Project, launched a programme on the improvement of the quality of fruits: sweet cherries, apricots, apples, plums an table grapes.
The high quality fruits are sold on foreign markets at competitive prices. The ensuring of the fruits’ quality generates incomes both for the consolidation of the confidence of the international partners and facilitates the exporters’ access to new markets.
The programme on improvement of the quality of fruits and table grapes will be carried out during 2024-2025.
