Chisinau, Aug 2 /MOLDPRES/- Applications for WESA grant program in support of small Moldovan wine producers can be submitted until August 5. Applicants should submit the set of documents via e-mail to [email protected].
Moldovan wine and wine exporters, united under the umbrella of the country's wine brand, will expand their presence and strengthen their reputation on international markets. Thanks to the WESA grant program, which will be implemented over the next 12 months, sales of value-added wines in non-traditional markets such as Romania, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, South Korea, Japan, Canada, and others will be increased.
The initiative is funded by the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF) and will be implemented by the National Association for Inbound Tourism in Moldova (ANTRIM) in partnership with the National Vine and Wine Office (ONVV) and USAID's Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity.
With a total budget of eight million lei (400 thousand euro), the program will support at least 15 wine companies from various regions of Moldova, providing them with financial support and expertise to increase exports by 15-20% and increase marketing budgets by 60%.
In 2023, the export volume of wine products to foreign markets reached 123 million liters and a total value of 192 million USD. This achievement confirms our country's status as the 16th largest wine exporter in the world, with a significant presence in about 70 countries.
