Moldova to build first electric transportation factory

Chisinau, Aug 2 /MOLDPRES/- An electric transportation factory will be set up in Moldova for the first time. Its construction will start in the fall of this year. The factory will be located on the Chișinău-Ungheni route, near Trușeni, and will start the local production of electric trolleybuses and buses within a year. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba made the statement today.

The company that will open the factory has recently delivered 17 electric trolleybuses to Balti and another five are due to arrive there by the end of August.

The first electric bus produced in Moldova was unveiled last year. It can travel 70 km autonomously and meets all international standards.
