Moldova to host European Junior Olympiad in Informatics

Chisinau, Aug. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will host on August 16-22, 2024, the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI) - a programming contest in informatics, now in its 8th edition.
Students up to 15.5 years of age from 26 European countries will participate in EJOI.
According to Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun, "by hosting such a prestigious competition at European standards, we aim to demonstrate our commitment to our European aspirations".
Previously, the Republic of Moldova organized the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics twice, in 2007 and 2017. It also held the Balkan Junior Mathematics Olympiad in 2006 and 2021 and three editions of the Balkan Mathematics Olympiad in 2000, 2009 and 2019.
The event is organized by MEC and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation.
