Chisinau, Aug 7 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan citizens of diaspora, who will return home and settle in the country will be able to benefit from First Home Plus program. Chairman of the parliamentary committee on economy, budget and finance Radu Marian made the statement today. He denied the information that the diaspora will not have access to the program.
"There is misinformation spreading online that because of an amendment of mine, the diaspora will not have access to the program. This is not true. Moldovans from the diaspora who return home and settle in the country will be able to benefit from this program," wrote Radu Marian.
According to the MP, "since the beginning of the First Home program, there is a mandatory provision that the beneficiaries must be employed in the Republic of Moldova and/or have income in the Republic of Moldova". "In the version of the draft law that came to the Parliament from the Government, this obligation was also stipulated. We did not intervene on this aspect - we did not 'remove' and we did not 'add' diaspora. With my amendment, I have concretized in the law and I have reiterated what is in force until now", he said.
The MP also added that "the government decision to implement the First Home Program has had a permanent obligation that the housing purchased through this program must be used only for their own use, that is, to live in it and not to rent it or keep it empty as a means of investment", he said.
The First Home Plus program was approved by the Parliament in the second reading on 31 July and entered into force on 5 August, with publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.
The document provides for the extension of the program in order to provide more Moldovan citizens with access to financing for the purchase of housing, eliminating a number of barriers to access to financing on more advantageous terms.
