MPs of Lithuania to pay visit to Chisinau

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - MPs of the group for inter-parliamentary relations with Moldova of Lithuania’s Seimas (parliament) will pay a visit to Moldova on 26-28 August.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the delegation is made up of: Deputy Speaker of Seimas Andrius Mazuronis; member of the Committee on Economy, Mindaugas Skritulskas; member of the Committee on Future and Committee on Social Affairs and Labour Rasa Petrauskienė; member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and president of the anti-corruption Committee Algirdas Stončaitis; the deputy president of the Committee on State Administration and Local Authorities Valentinas Bukauskas; chief specialist at the Department for International Relations, Milda Žvinienė.
Under the agenda, the Lithuanian officials and representatives of the Embassy of Lithuania in Moldova and lawmakers, president of the group of friendship with Lithuania Ion Babici, representatives of the parliamentary commission for public administration and regional development, Larisa Voloh and Ersilia Qatrawi, will visit the south-eastern Stefan Voda district, in order to mark, along with residents and local authorities, the Independence Day of Moldova. Also, the members of the Lithuanian delegation, accompanied by MPs Ion Babici and Ana Oglinda, will visit to central Anenii Noi district.
In the context of the visit, the officials will have meetings with the head of the Stefan Voda district, Olga Luchian, the head of the Anenii Noi district, Alexandru Moisei, mayors, representatives of the two district councils, the leadership of diverse institutions, etc. At the same time, the delegation will visit several settlements of the Stefan Voda and Anenii Noi districts, where local development projects were implemented with EU’s support, and will have discussions with citizens of the region about Lithuania’s experience on the path of accession to the European Union.
